JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Cornell's men struck three times in the first half to beat Illinois College, 3-0, in Midwest Conference soccer action on a rainy Monday night.
The shutout brings the current streak to seven straight games unbeaten for the Rams (11-2 overall, 4-0 MWC).
Zach Miller scored the first two goals of the match. The first came at the 24-minute mark of the first half. He notched his second of the game just seven minutes later. Both goals were unassisted.
Cian McNamara scored his first goal as a Ram with just a minute and a half left in the first period.
Blake Soto recorded the assist on the play.
Will Bickel recorded six saves in his 90 minutes of action in goal for the Rams.
Cornell outshot Illinois College (7-6-1 overall, 0-4 MWC) 12-10 for the match.
Miller paced the offense with five shots.
George Archer and McNamara had two shots apiece.
Emerson Roy and
Gaurab Khadka rounded out the shooting with one shot each.
