Rory Light and
Alissa McEndaffer combined for 22 kills and guided Cornell's volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-16, 25-19 Midwest Conference sweep at Ripon Friday night.
The Rams (11-6 overall) improved to 4-0 in the MWC, keeping pace with Grinnell for first place at the halfway point of the conference season.
Clare Green distributed 33 assists for a Cornell offense that hit .197 on the night. Light and McEndaffer had near-identical stat lines with 11 kills and only two attack errors apiece.
Olivia Richards posted a strong .417 attack percentage, killing five of her 12 attempts.
The Rams were tough at the net with nine team blocks, four coming from Light.
Ilah Perez-Johnson and
Tendall Weigand each had three block assists.
Lindsey Frazier and
Sydney Meeker shared team-high honors with 13 digs apiece. Green added nine digs and fired two of the team's five ace serves.
Cornell limited the Red Hawks (8-13 overall, 0-3 MWC) to .039 hitting and only three aces on 55 serve attempts.
The Rams continue their MWC road swing Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at Lake Forest (7-13 overall, 3-1 MWC).
