FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Cornell's wrestlers had an enjoyable holiday experience in the Sunshine State, claiming 10 placewinners and one individual champion at the two-day Citrus Invitational that concluded Thursday.

Senior Casey Allen captured the 165-pound crown and Killian Perrigon took runner-up at 157, leading the Rams to a solid third-place showing in the 12-team field.

Coach Brent Hamm's Rams won all seven of their matches in the first round on Day 2, helping catapult them ahead of sixth-ranked John Carroll in the final team standings, 129-122.5. It marked Cornell's highest Citrus team finish since 2016.

Ninth-ranked Augsburg finished first with 215 points, followed by Castleton with 159.

The top-seeded Allen (20-5) became Cornell's first individual Citrus champion since Josh Martin in 2017. Allen scored a 3-2 decision in the finals over 10th-ranked and second-seeded Michael Angers of Castleton.

Allen recorded his 12th (1:25) and 13th (1:03) pins of the season in the opening two rounds. He defeated John Carroll's Patrick McGraw in the semifinals, 6-2.

Perrigon's 4-1 tournament was highlighted by an impressive fall in 37 seconds over No. 2 nationally-ranked Luke Reicosky of John Carroll in the semifinals. Perrigon (19-8) lost 17-1 to Augsburg's third-ranked Tyler Shilson in the championship bout.
