Box Score MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women came up empty in a 9-0 dual loss to Lake Forest in Midwest Conference tennis action Saturday in the Small Sport Center Arena.
Lake Forest (3-1 overall, 1-0 MWC), the MWC regular-season runner-up a year ago, claimed all singles matches in straight sets and also swept the doubles competition.
Cornell's No. 1 doubles team of Liv Aractingi (SO/Kansas City, Mo.) and Emmaline Fievet (JR/Bend, Ore.) dropped an 8-3 contest. The Rams (4-7, 0-2) were shut out in the two other doubles matches.
Amanda Dragon (JR/Mount Vernon, Iowa) provided the most resistance in singles play, falling 6-4, 6-1 at the No. 5 position. Ashley Mink (FR/Akron, Ohio) lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Coming up – Cornell plays host to league foe St. Norbert in a 4 p.m. dual Wednesday.
