MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's wrestling team fielded placewinners in eight weight classes and landed a pair of finalists in taking third at the nine-team Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational Saturday inside the Small Sport Center Arena.

The Rams racked up 130 team points, the most at their annual home tournament since 2017 (148 points). Augsburg claimed the team title with 186 points, followed by Luther with 155.

Cornell's two returning all-Americans – seniors
Killian Perrigon at 157 pounds and
Casey Allen at 165 – both finished runner-up in their respective brackets to guide the Rams, who had 15 individuals place in the top eight.

The top-seeded and 14th-ranked Perrigon (21-9) lost by fall in 4:09 to Dubuque's Zarik Anderson in the 157-pound championship bout. Perrigon opened his day with pins in 1:11 and 5:28.

The 13th-ranked Allen (23-6) cruised to the 165-pound finals with a quick fall in 1:21 and two decisions, 8-1 and 5-0. Allen was pinned in 1:53 by UW-La Crosse's fifth-ranked Seth Brossard in the title match.

Cornell received strong third-place efforts from junior
Evan Husko (22-12) at 133, freshman
Dahson DeJong (17-11) at 174 and freshman
Cael McLaren (25-8) at 184. All three Rams went 4-1 on the day.

Husko beat Augsburg's Kieler Carlson, 8-2, in his third-place match. DeJong won his place match with a hard-fought 8-6 victory over UW-La Crosse's Wyatt Simon. McLaren also impressed with three falls in his CKMD debut, capped by a pin in 2:28 over Dubuque's Kurtis Modlin for third place.

Keegan Schultschik finished fourth with a 5-2 record at 141.
Gabe Carter (4-2 at 157),
Colin Honderd (2-2 at 184) and
Treyten Steffen (3-3 at 197) all placed fifth.

The Rams got sixth-place finishes from
Klayton Keller (149) and
Cory Stewart (157).
Kyler Henderson (141) and
Spencer Roth (165) both placed seventh.
Jacob Sherzer (174) and
Joseph Pasquesi (184) both took eighth. Â

Cornell (5-2) is home Friday for a 7 p.m. dual meet against Iowa Wesleyan (1-1) in the Small Sport Center.
