MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's fifth-year Aaron Davidson has been selected Midwest Conference Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, and freshman libero Ella Becker the MWC Volleyball Defensive Performer of the Week for the period ending Oct. 16.   
 
This is Davidson's third weekly accolade of the season. Becker is the fourth Ram volleyball player recognized by the MWC this fall.
 
Davidson ran well against an elite field that included 10 nationally-ranked teams at Saturday's Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. He placed 55th out of 275 finishers with an 8K time of 24:57.
 
Davidson paced the No. 10 regionally-ranked Rams to 17th place in the team race. He owns the quickest 8K mark in the MWC by nearly a full minute.
 
Davidson and the Rams will contend for titles at the MWC Championships Oct. 29 in Monmouth, Ill.
 
Becker continued her impressive play on Cornell's backline, averaging 5.57 digs per set in two matches. She collected 23 digs while going 41-of-42 in serve reception in a tight 3-1 loss at 17th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus.
 
Becker ranks fourth in the MWC at 4.83 digs per set. She has 333 digs and 19 service aces for the season.
 
Becker and the Rams (15-6 overall, 5-0 MWC) travel to play Beloit at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Beloit, Wis.
