MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's surging volleyball team reached another milestone Friday night with its 25-21, 25-15, 25-14 Midwest Conference sweep over Ripon inside the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.

Jeff Meeker's Rams notched their 100th MWC victory – including postseason play – since rejoining the conference in 2012. Cornell boosted its record to 100-4 in MWC competition during the dominant stretch.
Cornell (12-5 overall, 3-0 MWC) won for the eighth time in its last nine outings. All but one of the victories have been 3-0 outcomes.
The Rams picked up steam as the match progressed and finished off the visiting Red Hawks (2-16 overall, 0-2 MWC) with one of their 14 blocks on the night, a tandem stuff by
Rory Light and
Clare Green.
Light, who remains the NCAA Division III leader in blocks per set, added nine block assists to her impressive season total. The senior also had an outstanding offensive match, pounding 11 kills on 22 errorless swings for a .500 attack percentage.
Ella McLaughlin contributed seven kills and scooped nine digs, sharing team-high honors with fellow freshman
Ella Becker. Green totaled 24 assists.
Ilah Perez-Johnson served three aces.
Carly Puffer was in on five blocks.
Ripon's attack had a tough go against Cornell's front line and hit negative-.035. The Rams finished with 32 kills on .165 hitting.
Coming up – Cornell returns to its home court Saturday for a 1 p.m. match against Lake Forest (8-10 overall, 2-0 MWC).
