MOUNT PLEASANT – Freshman
Landen Schemmel completed a big comeback win at heavyweight to punctuate Cornell's 44-3 dual rout of NAIA's Iowa Wesleyan Thursday night inside Ruble Arena.

Schemmel rallied from a third-period deficit, scoring the decisive takedown in the closing seconds for a 13-12 victory over Isaac Boucher. It was the last of eight straight victories to close the meet for the 19th-ranked Rams, who improved to 8-2 on the season.

Cornell won nine of the 10 matches and extended its dual winning streak to five.

The Rams tallied bonus points in seven consecutive bouts after the Tigers (1-4) tied it at 3-3 in the early going. Cornell received pins from freshman
Gabriel Smith at 157 pounds (2:12), 15th-ranked
Jacob Sherzer at 174 (3:48) and junior
Treyten Steffen at 197 (3:36). Smith notched his team-high 23rd victory and 10th fall of the season.

Cory Stewart dominated his 165-pound match with a 17-0 technical fall. Sophomore
Cael McLaren rolled to a 19-2 technical fall at 184.

Sophomore 149-pounder
Landon Card provided bonus points with a 15-4 major decision. He improved to 19-9 on the season.

Freshman
Jase Van Pelt opened the meet with a 6-4 decision at 125.
Carter Fecht won by forfeit at 141.

Iowa Wesleyan's Brendan Ferenchik edged
Jayden Rael, 8-7, in the 133-pound bout.
