MONMOUTH, Ill. – Cornell's
Sabrina Ibanez reached the century mark for saves this season in Wednesday's 4-0 Midwest Conference women's soccer loss to Monmouth at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.
Ibanez turned in another solid outing for the Rams (0-6-3 overall, 0-3 MWC) with 17 saves, three shy of her career high. The sophomore goalkeeper, who entered the contest ranked 11th nationally in saves, boosted her season total to 105.
Junior
Kylie Hard led Cornell's attack with seven shots, including four on goal.
Amelia Brown and
Lena Fogarty added two attempts apiece.
The Fighting Scots (3-5-3 overall, 1-1-1 MWC) put the pressure on early, striking in the second minute of play and increasing the lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute. Monmouth scored twice more in the second half to complete the scoring.
Ibanez recorded double-digit saves for the sixth time this fall. She faced 31 shots from Monmouth.
