KENOSHA, Wis. – Cornell's men's wrestling team was dealt its first dual loss of the season against a formidable foe Saturday, falling 40-6 to No. 5 nationally-ranked UW-La Crosse.

Junior 149-pounder
Landon Card accounted for Cornell's match win, recording a third-period pin over Josh Cherba in 6:02. It was the second fall in three days for Card, who improved to 3-0 on the season.

At 125, Cornell's
Jase Van Pelt was in a tight match with Remington Bontreger before dropping a 6-2 decision.

UW-La Crosse (2-0) earned bonus points in eight other matches. At 157, top-ranked and defending NCAA champion Nolan Hertel handed Cornell's
Gabriel Smith his first loss of the season with an 11-0 major decision.

Coming up – Cornell (2-1) will face top-level competition next Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Armbar at the Armory in Albany, N.Y. The Rams wrestle No. 11 Castleton, No. 12 Stevens and No. 14 College of New Jersey.
