WAVERLY – In a tough road assignment Wednesday night, Cornell's women's basketball team fell 71-26 to No. 8 nationally-ranked Wartburg at Levick Arena.
The Rams' challenging early-season stretch has come against four opponents with a combined 11-0 record.
Wartburg (3-0), a Sweet 16 participant a season ago, connected for 12 3-point goals and outrebounded the Rams (0-4) by a 54-26 margin.
Cornell forced the Knights into 16 turnovers, receiving two steals apiece from
Rachael Adewusi and
A'ryn Jackson.
Randi Wright had a team-high five rebounds to go with six points.
Kali March hit a pair of 3-pointers and led the Rams with eight points.
Wartburg broke open a 13-12 game with an 8-0 run to finish the first quarter. The Knights led 36-16 at halftime.
