Kali March of the Cornell women's basketball team turned in a stellar performance against Lake Forest in the Rams' 57-47 Midwest Conference win Saturday at the Sports and Recreation Center.
March had a first-half stat line that would vault the Rams into the driver's seat for the rest of the game. She had 14 points on 5-of-5 shooting, including 4-of-4 from deep, with three steals.
With Cornell's (3-4 overall, 2-0 MWC) win over the Foresters (1-7 overall, 1-2 MWC), the Rams stayed undefeated in conference play and extended their win streak to three.
Behind March, the Rams utilized a strong second quarter to capture the lead. The Rams shot 41.0 percent (7-17) on field goals in the quarter along with 5-of-9 (55.0%) from three-point range.
The defense of the Rams was spectacular as they held the conference-leading offense to 30.0 percent shooting from the floor, 12.0 percent from three-point range and caused 27 turnovers.
March finished with 24 points for her second 20-point game of the season on 7-of-10 shooting, 5-of-7 from deep, and 5-of-6 from the foul line to go along with seven steals and four assists.
Bradie Buffington and
Randi Wright each had eight points. Simmons had seven points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
