MOUNT VERNON – Cornell women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 dual meet to Augustana in Saturday's spring opener in the arena of the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.
 
At doubles, Cornell's No. 1 team of Makayla Johnson and Audrey Small, and No. 2 pair of Josalin McKeever and Ashley Mink both lost by identical 8-2 outcomes. Augustana surrendered only one game at the No. 3 position.
 
Ashley Drake moved to 9-6 on the season in singles play after losing at No. 5 singles to Lauren Oda (6-1, 6-3). Kylie Jacobson evened her season mark at 7-7 with a 6-1, 6-0 loss at No. 3. Small is now 9-6 after falling 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.
 
Coming Up – The Rams travel to Hilton Head, S.C. for four spring break duals next week. Cornell opens against Johnson and Wales (N.C.) Friday.
