MOUNT VERNON – Fresh off two notable wins last week, Cornell's volleyball team surged to No. 14 in Tuesday's
AVCA/TARAFLEX Division III Top 25 Poll.
The Rams (8-1) climbed into the Top 15 for the first time in program history, eclipsing last week's No. 17 ranking which was an all-time high.
Cornell received 955 total points in this week's poll, which includes two rated teams the Rams have beaten in No. 6 Northwestern and No. 18 Gustavus Adolphus.
The Rams notched resumé-building home victories last week over a pair of 2022 conference champions in rival Coe (3-2) and then-No. 15 Gustavus Adolphus (3-0) to extend their winning streak to four matches.
Cornell's lone loss of the season was against No. 7 UW-Whitewater in four sets Sept. 8.
The Rams return to the court Wednesday to face Loras (6-6) at 7:30 p.m. in Dubuque. Cornell plays twice Friday at the Wartburg Invitational, meeting Carthage (5-6) at 4 p.m. and UW-River Falls (8-3) at 6 p.m. in Waverly.
