MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women's soccer team fired off 10 shots in the second half, although couldn't come back against Monmouth in Tuesday's 2-0 Midwest Conference loss at home.
 
Junior 
Sabrina Ibanez became the fourth Ram in program history to eclipse 250 saves in a career. She had seven saves in the match, five coming after intermission.
 
The Fighting Scots (3-6-3 overall, 1-1-1 MWC) scored in the 11th minute and added an insurance goal early in the second half to close the scoring.
 
First-year 
Eva Plathe led Cornell's attack with three shots. 
Elissafe Moreno finished with two shots on goal. 
Gwen Westervelt and 
Sydney Newberg also had two attempts apiece.
 
Cornell (1-10 overall, 0-3 MWC) had five corner kick chances, to Monmouth's two. The Fighting Scots held a 22-11 advantage in total shots.
