MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's men's cross country team has climbed into the Midwest Region's Top 10 rankings for the first time this season at No. 8, according to Tuesday's
USTFCCCA NCAA Division III Poll.
Cornell's women remained steady at No. 7 in the Midwest Region for the third consecutive week.
This marks the first time since Week 5 of the 2021 season that both Cornell men's and women's teams have appeared in the region's Top 10. That was head coach
Jerry Frawley's first year leading both programs.
Both teams performed well at Saturday's highly-competitive Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
Isaac vanWestrienen was crowned individual champion in pacing Cornell's men's squad, which finished 28th out of 36 teams, 17 which were nationally-ranked.
The Cornell women also ran up against several of the nation's top teams, placing 25th out of 40.
The Rams carry momentum into the Midwest Conference Championships, which they'll host on Nov. 1 at Seminole Valley Park in Cedar Rapids.
