MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's volleyball team clinched a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament with Saturday's 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 sweep over Lake Forest inside the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.

Coach Jeff Meeker's Rams (13-10, 5-0 MWC) secured a postseason berth for the 18th consecutive season, dating back to the Iowa Conference. The Rams are alone in first place in the MWC race, ahead of challengers and upcoming opponents Grinnell and Illinois College, both at 4-1.

Sparked by their season's third-highest hitting percentage (.271) and 11 service aces against Lake Forest (4-13, 1-4 MWC), Cornell notched its 100th sweep against MWC opponents since 2012.

First-year Ashlin Nottestad led the way with 11 kills on .409 hitting. Ally Olmstead slammed nine kills and added two blocks. Hannah Cantwell enjoyed a nice all-around afternoon with six kills, four aces, and 12 digs.

Selia Stein posted four blocks, boosting her MWC-leading season tally to 100. Stein ranks No. 5 nationally in total blocks.

Grace Tverberg and Nia Howard combined for 25 assists. Ella Becker scooped 13 digs. Howard and Kensie Staats each served three aces.

Up next – The Rams host MWC second-place Illinois College (9-15 overall, 4-1 MWC) Friday at 7 p.m.
