PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Cornell's men's wrestling team won eight of 10 contested matches Thursday night for a decisive 28-11 dual victory over UW-Platteville at Williams Fieldhouse.
The Rams (1-1) were in control from the start, recording an opening 4-1 decision from
Jase Van Pelt at 125 pounds. Cornell received its final points from 11th-ranked
Jackson Brinker with a 22-7 technical fall at 197.
Sophomore 141-pounder
Dylan Heater also delivered bonus points for the Rams with an 18-1 technical fall over Garrett Marks in 5:00.
Cornell's
Jayson Stevens and
AJ Parrish both were victorious and improved their season records to 6-1. Stevens earned a 12-8 decision at 133. Parrish prevailed 7-3 at 157.
Eighth-ranked
Brian Petry tallied a 13-6 decision at 165. Freshman 174-pounder
Elias Chapin scored a 6-2 decision.
Austin Wilkins won 5-1 at 184.
UW-Platteville (0-1) got on the scoreboard with a technical fall at 141 and then a pin at 285.
