MOUNT VERNON – Cornell senior libero
Ella Becker has been selected to the
2025 All-Region First Team in Region IX by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Becker joins a long list of all-region performers under head coach
Jeff Meeker. This is the ninth consecutive season the Rams have landed at least one honoree.
Named First Team All-Midwest Conference last week, Becker has accumulated 498 digs this season, averaging 4.61 per set. She's reached double-digit digs in all but one match, including 21 scoops in Saturday's 3-1 win over Lawrence for the MWC Tournament title.
Becker is serving at a 97.0-percent clip with 15 aces in 364 total attempts. She also leads the Rams with a 94.0 serve reception percentage.
The three-time all-conference pick ranks third on Cornell's career list with 1,988 digs. Becker is on the verge of becoming the 16th player in MWC history to eclipse 2,000 digs.
Becker will be starting in her fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament on Thursday, when the Rams (19-10) take the court at 2 p.m. against Dubuque (25-4) in a regional quarterfinal in Oshkosh, Wis.
Becker guided Cornell to its 13th straight MWC regular-season title and the program's fifth consecutive NCAA berth.
