RIPON, Wis. – Sophomore
Violet Fiers recorded 10 saves in Cornell's 3-0 women's soccer loss to Midwest Conference foe Ripon Wednesday night at Hopp Stadium.
Fiers reached double-digit saves for the fourth time this season against steady pressure from the Red Hawks (5-6-1 overall, 2-2-1 MWC), who gained early control with a pair of goals in the opening 14 minutes of the contest.
Ripon, which fired 23 total shots, scored its final goal in the 52nd minute of the second half.
The Rams (2-9 overall, 0-5 MWC) attempted nine shots for the night, five coming from
Mia Belitz. Belitz had two shots on goal.
Eva Plathe accounted for three shots, while
Adi McMahon had one.
Coming up – Cornell is back on the road Saturday to face second-place Lawrence (7-1-5 overall, 3-1-1 MWC) at 6:30 p.m. in Appleton, Wis.
