Knowles repeats as First Team All-Midwest Conference choice

| By:
MOUNT VERNON – Cornell sophomore forward Erin Knowles has been selected to the 2025-26 All-Midwest Conference Women's Basketball First Team, as announced Thursday by the MWC office.

Knowles landed on the six-player first team for the second consecutive year, becoming the first Ram to accomplish the feat since Diamond Boyd did it three years in a row from 2016-18.

The 2024-25 MWC Newcomer of the Year, Knowles delivered another dynamic regular season in guiding the youthful Rams (15-9 overall, 9-7 MWC) to a berth in the MWC Tournament, where they'll face 18th-ranked Ripon in a semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday in Ripon, Wis.

The 6-foot-1 Knowles finished second among all MWC players in scoring at 19.7 points per game. She's within eight points from breaking her own school record for points in a season with 472. The four-time MWC Performer of the Week has topped the 20-point mark nine times, including a collegiate-best 35 points against North Central Dec. 9.

Knowles ranks third in the MWC in field goal percentage (46.3), fifth in blocked shots (1.1 bpg), sixth in rebounds (7.1 rpg) and eighth in free throw percentage (71.5) while playing 31.4 minutes per game.

Knowles has gone 123-of-172 from the foul line this season. She broke Cornell's single-game records for free throws made (16) and attempted (23) in a key road win over postseason qualifier Knox on Jan. 13.

Knowles already stands 10th on the program's career scoring list with 951 points through 49 games.

The Rams placed fourth in the MWC regular season to qualify for the MWC Tournament for the third time in four years.
