Women's Tennis sets new program record with 21st dual win

Box Score DUBUQUE - Cornell's women's tennis team continued its historic season by earning their 21st dual match victory Thursday, breaking the previous record of 20. The Rams defeated Loras College 4-0 on the road in a rain-shortened matchup.

The previous wins record was shared by the 2008-2009 and 2014-2015 teams at 20. After Thursday's victory, coach Trent Schneider's No. 59 nationally-ranked Rams improved to 21-3 overall with three regular-season matches to go.

Cornell started off the match against the Duhawks claiming all three doubles spots. No. 1 duo of Michaela Clark and Mac Graves won 6-3, while No. 2 duo Tansy Graves and Annika Dox as well as No. 3 tandem Audrey Small and Jenna Benkufsky each took a 6-4 win.

Three singles matches were completed before the rain struck, with No. 2 Mac Graves, No. 3 Tansy Graves and No. 6 Annika Dox all obtaining straight set wins for Cornell to clinch the meet.

Coming up - Cornell hosts Central College for Senior Day on Sunday, April 12 at 2pm. The Rams will honor Ashley Drake and Small prior to the match.
