MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's women's tennis team is heading north of the border tomorrow for postseason play. Fifth-year coach Trent Schneider's Rams have earned the No. 3 seed in the Midwest Conference Women's Tennis Team Automatic Qualifying Tournament.

The Rams qualified for the MWC Team Tournament this past fall season, for the eighth time in the past ten years. No. 3 seed Cornell (4-2 MWC) faces No. 2 seed Lake Forest (5-1 MWC) in a semifinal at 3 p.m. Saturday at John Powless Tennis Center in Madison, Wis.

This semi-final dual will feature a matchup of nationally ranked teams, Cornell ranked #54 and Lake Forest #67.

Saturday's first semifinal pits No. 1 Grinnell (6-0) against No. 4 Illinois College (3-3) at 12 p.m. The championship dual will be held one hour after the second semifinal Saturday evening with an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament on the line.

The Rams completed the regular season finishing 24-3 overall, setting the program mark for most dual wins in a season. They fell 7-0 to Lake Forest in their previous matchup on October 11.
