CEDAR RAPIDS – Senior libero
Kensie Staats reached double-digit digs for the ninth consecutive match this season in Cornell's 25-19, 25-17, 31-29 loss to Lakeland Saturday morning at Coe's Kohawk Arena.
Staats added a match-high 15 digs to her season total against Lakeland (8-5), which won key points late to take down the Rams (2-7). Staats represented Cornell on the Mabel Lee Invitational All-Tournament Team, compiling 44 digs in three matches.
Cornell had a chance to extend the match in the third set, but was denied set point five times. Set 3 was tied 15 times before Lakeland finally finished it.
Sophomore
Grace Tverberg posted team-highs with 17 assists and three service aces.
Ally Olmstead led the Rams with nine kills, followed by
Selia Stein with six.
Ashlin Nottestad recorded 11 digs.
Nia Howard had 11 assists.
Coming up – The Rams are home Wednesday to face Loras (5-7) at 7:30 p.m. in the Small Athletic and Wellness Center.
