THE RIRIE FITNESS & WELLNESS CENTER

The Ririe Fitness and Wellness Center located within the SAW is dedicated to enhancing the campus climate and enriching the quality of life by fostering growth within the seven dimensions of the wellness: social, emotional, mental, physical, environmental, spiritual and occupational.

The SAW and the Ririe Fitness and Wellness Center recognizes and celebrates the opportunities wellness provides by uniting individuals from distinct backgrounds in a common goal.  The building houses state of the art fitness equipment, a variety of recreational and intramural programs as well as effective wellness education provided by the college’s Health Promotions department with support from the Wellness Center Coordinator.

Building off the rich athletic history of the past, the SAW has become a vital hub of health and wellness for our student-athletes and the broader Cornell community. The college worked closely with the architectural firm Kahler Slater and construction firm M.A. Mortenson Company for this $20.5 million renovation project, which was completed in August 2022. The design concept centered around creating an inclusive facility rooted in function that allows Cornell to recruit top students, athletes, coaches, and staff, while serving as a living showcase of the past, present, and future of athletics and wellness on the Hilltop!
