Cornell College

Hassell, a five-time Western Athletic Conference champion from Utah State University, joins the Cornell cross country and track and field coaching staff in 2012-13.

A middle distance standout, Hassell was a school-record holder in both the indoor 800 (2:08.27) and outdoor 1500 (4:25.70) for the Aggies. Coach Hassell previously served as an assistant coach at the University of California at San Diego and San Diego Mesa College.

Hassell lives in Mount Vernon with her husband Hans, an assistant professor in Cornell's politics department, and their son Johannes.
