Olivia Fain joined Cornell's men's and women's tennis staff as assistant coach in 2022.
A Waterloo, Iowa native, Fain comes to Cornell after completing her collegiate playing career at NCAA Division I University of Northern Iowa.
Fain was the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference doubles champion and earned MVC Women's Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention status in 2021. Fain landed on the honor roll at UNI six times during her time in Cedar Falls.
A three-year member on UNI's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Fain graduated with bachelor's degrees in biology and athletic training. She is pursuing a master's degree in Athletic Training (MSAT) at the University of Iowa in Fall 2022.
Fain was a key member of four state team championships at Columbus Catholic High School, which fashioned an undefeated dual record over four years. A two-time co-ed state doubles champion for the Sailors, Fain was the singles state champion in 2016 and the doubles state champion in 2018. Fain is one of four individuals in Iowa High School tennis history to hold all four state titles (team, singles, doubles, and co-ed) and was a member of the 2016 team that captured all four titles in the same season.
A member of the Des Moines Register Iowa Elite Tennis Team in 2016, 2017, and 2018, Fain was also the 2018 Female Athlete of the year at Columbus in her senior season. Fain was a four-sport athlete that also earned letters in volleyball, basketball, and soccer along with tennis. She was a member of Columbus' volleyball state championship team.
Fain served on the Black Hawk Tennis Club staff from 2017-2022. She was the head tennis professional at Waterloo Leisure Services from 2016-2018.
