Track & field star Tashina (McAllister) Steggall joined Cornell College's track & field coaching staff in August 2017, was elevated to interim head coach in July 2019 and promoted to head coach of the men's and women's teams in May 2020.

Steggall was on Cornell's cross country staff for four seasons, including 2019 and 2020 as head coach.

Steggall, a 14-time NCAA Division III All-American while at Wartburg College (2011-14), arrived on the Hilltop after two seasons as a track & field graduate assistant at Concordia University Irvine.

Steggall was crowned 2014 NCAA indoor champion in the 60-meter hurdles, and twice took NCAA runner-up in the 400 hurdles (2013-14). A school-record holder in both hurdles events, Steggall was voted 2014 Central Region Track Athlete of the Year her senior season.

Steggall helped Wartburg win four NCAA team championships (indoors – 2012, outdoors 2012-14) and eight Iowa Conference team titles. She was tabbed Most Outstanding Track Performer at the 2013 IIAC Outdoor Championships and finished with six career individual conference titles.

Steggall ran on the championship distance medley relay at the 2012 Drake Relays. She competed in the Drake Relays 400 hurdles as a senior for the Knights.

Steggall graduated from Wartburg in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in psychology. She received her master’s in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia Irvine in 2017.

Steggall was assistant girls’ track & field coach for Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 2015. She then moved on to Concordia Irvine, where she guided the women’s team to a third-place finish at the 2016 PacWest Conference Championships.

A decorated athlete at Oelwein High School, the Hazleton native was a two-time Iowa state champion in the 400 hurdles and also claimed a state title in the 100. She competed at the Drake Relays three years while in high school, placing in the 400 hurdles her senior season.

Tashina was married to Brandon Steggall on July 29, 2017.
