Colbert, a standout multi-sport athlete at Ohio Northern University, is in his first season on Cornell’s track and field staff, working with the sprinters and jumpers. He is also linebackers coach on the Ram football staff.

Colbert, a native of Urbana, Ohio, was a two-year starting strong safety for Ohio Northern, serving as football team captain his senior year. He also excelled in track and field, highlighted by winning an NCAA Division III national title in the long jump during the 2014 outdoor season. Colbert was a 2014 NCAA outdoor qualifier in the 4x100 relay and finished with eight all-conference track and field medals at Ohio Northern.

Colbert earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ohio Northern in 2014.

Before arriving at Ohio Northern, Colbert spent two years at Wittenberg University. He was a two-year football letterwinner and qualified for indoor track and field nationals in the long jump while in Springfield, Ohio.

Colbert served one season as assistant football coach at Minster (Ohio) High School, helping guide the team to a 2014 state championship, marking the school’s first football title in 25 years. He coached wide receivers and defensive backs, which included the school’s first 1,000-yard receiver during the 2014 season.
