Kenny Anderson

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Anderson, a three-time NCAA champion at Wartburg College, joined Cornell’s wrestling staff in the 2017-18 season.

Anderson accomplished a rare three-peat while wrestling for the Knights, claiming NCAA individual titles in 2012 (125 pounds), 2013 (133) and 2014 (133). He also led Wartburg to three consecutive NCAA team championships from 2012-14.

Anderson was selected Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2014 Central Region Championships. He captured three straight Iowa Conference titles, earning IIAC Wrestler of the Year accolades all three years. During his junior season, Anderson was named USA Wrestling Wrestler of the Week by TheMat.com.

Anderson lost only three matches during his three-year career at Wartburg, and avenged them all. He was captain of the 2013-14 team.

Anderson graduated from Wartburg in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in fitness management.

Upon graduation, Anderson stayed in Waverly and served as an assistant coach on Wartburg’s staff from 2015-17. During that time, the Knights compiled a 57-1 dual record, won three NWCA National Duals championships and two NCAA team titles (2016, 2017). Wartburg was national runner-up in 2015.

Anderson was part of the 2017 Wartburg staff that was tabbed Central Region Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year.

Anderson was enshrined into the Massachusetts Interscholastic Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011.
