MONMOUTH, Ill. – Cornell's men's soccer team fought Monmouth to a 0-0 draw after two overtimes in Midwest Conference action Saturday afternoon. This was Cornell's third shutout and third overtime match of the season.
The Rams fought hard and played strong defensively against Monmouth (6-3-2 overall, 1-0-2 MWC), however, they were unable to find a winning goal.
Cornell (2-7-1 overall, 0-2-1 MWC) attempted nine shots in the game. Tyler Davis (JR/St. Andrews, Jamaica) led the Rams with four shots. Blake Soto (FR/Oak Park, Ill.), Daniel Edwards (SO/Lake Worth, Fla.), Andrew Lopez (FR/Aurora, Colo.), Aria Deshid and Galen Westervelt (FR/Lopez Island, Wash.) each had one shot.
Tom Gallagher (JR/Cincinnati, Ohio) started the game in net for the Rams. He played all 110 minutes and made five saves.
Coming up – The Rams travel to play MWC opponent Grinnell College (4-7-0 overall, 0-3-0 MWC) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
