LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Cornell's women's soccer team finished an undefeated opening weekend in Midwest Conference play Sunday with a 0-0 double overtime draw against Lake Forest at Farwell Field.
The Rams (4-4-1 overall, 1-0-1 MWC) played hard against Lake Forest (5-3-3 overall, 0-0-2 MWC), but couldn't find the breakthrough.
Cornell attempted eight shots in the game, including one each in the two overtime periods. Dajana Scott-Smith (JR/Aurora, Colo.) led the Rams with three shots. Ashley Quesada (SR/Blaine, Wash.) attempted two shots. Layne Pullen (JR/Vail, Ariz.), Sofia Schnur (SR/Redwood City, Calif.) and Sam O'Brien (SO/Evergreen, Colo.) had one shot each.
Elise Thomason-Larson played the full 110 minutes in goal for the Rams. She made five saves and accounted for the team's third shutout of the season.
Coming up – The Rams head to Grinnell for a match against the Pioneers (4-4-2 overall, 1-0-1 MWC) at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
