LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Cornell's men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 Midwest Conference match to Lake Forest Sunday afternoon at Farwell Field.
The Rams (1-7-1 overall, 0-2-0 MWC) fell behind early when Lake Forest (4-5-1 overall, 2-0-0 MWC) scored just over a minute into the game. The Foresters, picked third in the MWC Preseason Coaches' Poll, scored twice more in the final 10 minutes of regulation to seal the game.
Cornell attempted five shots in the game. Daniel Edwards (SO/Lake Worth, Fla.) and Facundo Benavidez (SR/Buenos Aires, Argentina) each had two shots. Andrew Lopez (FR/Aurora, Colo.) attempted the other shot for the Rams.
Dylan Terrell (JR/Hickory Hills, Ill.) started the game in net for Cornell. He played all 90 minutes and made three saves.
Coming up – The Rams head to Storm Lake for a nonconference matchup with Buena Vista (1-5-3 overall) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
