MEN'S RESULTS
DUBUQUE – Cornell's track & field teams tuned up for next weekend's Midwest Conference Championships with many season-best marks Friday night at Dubuque's nine-team Sol Butler Classic.
 
Freshman 
Isaak Hutchings clocked the MWC's second-quickest time in the men's 800. He placed sixth out of 45 competitors in 1:59.64.
 
Jacob Engelken ran well in the 60 hurdles, qualifying for the finals and taking sixth overall in 9.09. The time ranks second in the MWC.
 
In the field events, 
Brad Pace took seventh in the weight throw with a season-best distance of 48-10 and was ninth in the shot put (41-4.25). 
Niko Platre finished 10th in the triple jump (39-3.75).
 
Sophomore 
Sidney Brown led Cornell's women with a sixth-place showing in the 400. Her time of 1:03.27 stands fourth in the MWC.
 
Taylor Cruz was eighth in the shot put (36-2.25) and weight throw (44-6). Both are her top marks this season.
 
The Rams compete at the MWC Indoor Championships Feb. 25-26, hosted by Knox College in Galesburg, Ill. The meet starts at 1 p.m. Friday and resumes Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
