MOUNT VERNON – Cornell men's lacrosse came up short in a 10-4 hard-fought nonconference loss against NCAA Division II Quincy University Saturday afternoon at Van Metre Field at Ash Park.
John Linderman and
Matt Norwood led the way offensively for the Rams (1-1), combining for four goals between the pair.
Linderman was efficient with his shots, scoring three goals on six attempts. He scored early in each of the first three quarters.
Norwood scored his lone goal early in the second quarter to take the lead over Quincy. He finished the game with one goal and one assist.
Kyle Jussila was able to maneuver through Quincy's defense with two assists on the day, one to both Norwood and Linderman.
All-conference goaltender
Evan Begner fought off a majority of Quincy's attack with 25 saves, only four shy of his own single-game record set last year.
The Rams will travel to Madison, Wis., next week to face off against Edgewood College at 7 p.m. March 2
