Box Score DECORAH – Chilly second-half shooting hampered the Rams Saturday afternoon in a 55-46 nonconference men's basketball loss to the Luther Norse inside Luther Field House.
Cornell (2-10) led for the better part of the opening half and held a 34-29 advantage with less than 16 minutes to go in regulation. The Norse (4-6) charged ahead with a 13-0 spurt while holding the Rams scoreless during a 10-minute stretch that turned the game.
The Rams were held to 26.9-percent shooting in the second half, helping Luther overcome a 29-26 halftime deficit.
Junior
Jayden Meeker tallied 17 of his game-high 21 points in the first half. He finished 7-of-12 shooting from the field, including 5-of-5 from the foul line.
Zach Ingle added 11 points with three 3-point goals. Junior
Wallace Schmotzer came off the bench to secure a team-best five rebounds.
Meeker and
Dylan Hurley had two steals apiece for the Rams, who led by as many as seven points in the first half.
The Norse outrebounded Cornell, 40-31, and received 26 points off their bench.
