LAKE FOREST, Ill. – A 7-0 second-quarter spurt carried Lake Forest to a 13-5 victory over the visiting Rams in a battle between Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference postseason contenders Saturday afternoon at Farwell Field.
Cornell (8-6 overall) moved to 2-2 in MWLC play with three matches to go in the regular season. The Foresters (5-7 overall) improved to 4-1 in the MWLC, one game back in the loss column to unbeaten co-leaders Saint Benedict and Northwestern.
The Rams held a 2-1 lead through one quarter behind a pair of unassisted goals from
Sabrina Ibanez, giving her 16 scores on the season.
Lake Forest responded by scoring seven unanswered goals in the decisive second period, taking an 8-2 advantage into halftime.
Anna Methe added two second-half goals for the Rams.
Cece Zanoni scored once for her team-high 34th goal of the spring.

Meg Lewis tallied four draw controls, while
Ilsa Jeffery collected three caused turnovers.
The Foresters held a 35-14 advantage in total shots.
