DES MOINES – Cornell's men's distance medley relay team paraded around Drake Stadium with white flags, which represented much more than a souvenir after their race Saturday morning at the Drake Relays.

Thomas Coble became part of the victorious Drake Relays tradition as champions in the Iowa College Division.
Cornell's foursome posted a winning time of 10:20.47, beating runner-up Dordt by one full second on the blue oval. Coble clocked a 1600-meter anchor leg of 4:21.36 to bring the Rams from third place to the front of the pack at the finish.
The Rams came within two seconds of the school record set last season. Cornell defeated seven teams in the all-Iowa final.

Augustana (S.D.) won the event in 11:42.58, followed by Loras in 11:44.22.
Cornell indoor all-American
Hailey Carolan represented well in the Women's Invitational High Jump, placing 10th out of 21 competitors. The first-year cleared 5 feet, 4.25 inches. Only five athletes jumped higher than Carolan, who was among six NCAA Division III entries.
Nebraska's Madi Scholl posted a winning height of 5-8.
