Two Historic School Records Broken at Fighting Scot Invite

MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Cornell men's and women's track and field teams broke a pair of historic records in the 100-meter dash and 100 hurdles on Saturday at the Monmouth Fighting Scot Invitational.
 
The 100-dash school record had been held by Ann Workman for 34 years before it was broken by senior Madison Osborn after she clocked in 12.13.

Senior Natalie McAllister's 100 hurdle time (14.49) broke a 17-year-old school record held by Jessica Axen. McAllister threw 33.47m (109' 9'') in the javelin for first place as well.
 
The 400 was led by Sidney Brown (59.78) who paced for first as Hailey Carolan secured the 400 hurdles (1:07.83) first-place finish. Carolan also finished second in the high jump (16.3m/5' 4.25").
 
Both the men and the women saw three finishes within top-2 in the 800: first place Ava Claussen-Tubbs ( 2:24.75), first place Fisher Isaacson (1:57.55), and second place Katie Lammers (2:25.69). Lammers was also the anchor leg in the winning 4x400 relay (4:19.35), which consisted of Alyza Koppes, Claussen-Tubbs, and Cari Pickup.
 
LaQuanta Crawford broke his personal record in the high jump by four inches (1.90m/6' 2.75") for first place. His jump currently ranks second in the conference.
 
In the 1,500, Thomas Coble finished first in 4:06.98 and Koppes finished second in 5:04.52. The men's 5,000 saw Brodie Callahan (16.29.65) place second and Ethyn Chesnut (17:00.76) place third.
 
Coming up –The Rams will compete at the MWC Outdoor Championship held at Grinnell on Friday.
