INDIANOLA – Cornell's men's soccer team hung tough with A-R-C's Simpson for 80 minutes Wednesday night before dropping a 3-0 nonconference match at Buxton Stadium.
This is the first of a three-match road swing for the Rams (1-3-3), who visit Nebraska Wesleyan Sunday and then open Midwest Conference play at Beloit Sept. 23.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Floris Huiskers helped keep the Rams close with seven saves in 90 minutes.
Gaurab Khadka,
Sam Burmeister, and
Fox Wight each had a shot on goal for Cornell.
The Rams stayed within striking distance most of the night, trailing 1-0 with 10 minutes left in regulation. The Storm (3-2) gained separation with a goal in the 80th minute and added a third goal in the 84th minute to provide the final margin.
