MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's men's soccer team put the first goal on the board, but couldn't make it stand in Saturday's 2-1 Midwest Conference loss to Ripon on Senior Day.
The Red Hawks (11-5 overall, 2-3 MWC) pulled even at 1-1 just before intermission and then scored the game-winner at the 57-minute mark. Ripon snapped a seven-match series losing skid against the Rams

George Archer continued his fantastic fall with his 10th goal off an assist from fellow senior
Aidan Lerch in the 37th minute to open the scoring.
The Rams (4-9-1 overall, 2-2-1 MWC) had more opportunities, outshooting the Red Hawks by a 14-11 margin. Lerch attempted a team-high five shots, followed by
Gaurab Khadka with three.
Jeremy Spina worked all 90 minutes in net and recorded one save.
