JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Cornell's volleyball team completed a successful 2-0 weekend road trip with Saturday's 18-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-11 comeback win over Illinois College inside Sherman Gymnasium.
The Rams, who beat Monmouth 3-1 on Friday night, improved to 10-11 overall and 3-0 in the Midwest Conference. Coach
Jeff Meeker's squad has now won six of its last seven matches.
The Rams equaled their season high with 11 ace serves against the Lady Blues (11-13 overall, 2-3 MWC).
Clare Green and
Nia Howard planted three aces apiece to lead the way.
Ilah Perez-Johnson recorded her 200th career ace, joining Hannah Boehmer (2007-10) as the only Rams to reach the milestone. Perez-Johnson also connected for a match-high 14 kills.
Carly Puffer posted 10 kills and six blocks.
Mia Tubbs added six kills and also had six blocks.
Clare Green dished 32 assists and
Ella Becker tallied 18 digs.
The Rams held Illinois College to 38 kills on .074 hitting.
Coming up – The Rams head to Beloit, Wis., Wednesday for a 7 p.m. conference match against the Buccaneers (2-17 overall, 0-4 MWC).
