GALESBURG, Ill. – Cornell's women's soccer team came away with its third shutout of the season in Monday's 0-0 Midwest Conference draw against Knox at Jorge Prats Field.
The Rams (2-11-1 overall, 1-4-1 MWC) fended off seven second-half shots by Knox (1-12-3 overall, 0-5-2 MWC) to keep the home team scoreless at the end.
Junior goalkeeper
Sabrina Ibanez tallied four saves – three after intermission – in 90 minutes of work. She went the distance for her second shutout in the last three matches.
The Rams finished with six shots in the contest, two from
Elissafe Moreno.
Ana Munn Carstensen,
Alicia Lopez and
Cassie Stevens each had one shot on goal for Cornell.
Cornell had five corner kick chances, to Knox's one.
With the tie, Cornell was eliminated from postseason play with two MWC matches remaining this week.
