APPLETON, Wis. – Cornell's
Sabrina Ibanez registered 12 saves in her first action of the season at goalkeeper as the Rams dropped a 3-0 women's soccer match to Midwest Conference unbeaten Lawrence Saturday night at the Banta Bowl.
Ibanez faced 23 total shots and logged all 90 minutes in net for the Rams, who were dealt their first series loss in Appleton, Wis., since 2015.
Lawrence (7-3-1 overall, 2-0 MWC) jumped ahead early with a goal in the third minute and tacked on another with 26 seconds left in the first half to earn a 2-0 advantage at intermission. The Vikings struck once more at the 51-minute mark.
The Rams (1-9 overall, 0-2 MWC) received one shot apiece from
Ava Ferencz,
Alicia Lopez,
Elissafe Moreno and
Eva Plathe.
