HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – Cornell's women's wrestling team had a busy day on the mat Friday at the Gator Boots Duals, held at Hendersonville High School.
The Rams dropped duals against Delaware Valley (41-18), Huntingdon (33-21), 12th-ranked Emmanuel (57-0) and Ursinus (36-18).
First-year
Ciara Gomez-Bryant led Cornell's young lineup with a 3-1 record at 138 pounds, highlighted by three wins by fall. She recorded pins over Delaware Valley (4:30), Huntingdon (:37) and Ursinus (1:28). Gomez-Bryant improved to 6-9 on the season with four pins.
Jasmine McCaskel also posted a winning record on the day, going 2-1 at 145. The first-year won by technical fall over Delaware Valley (17-6) and Huntingdon (14-4). McCaskel raised her season record to 11-7.
At 124,
Ava Garcia finished 2-2 with a pair of forfeit wins. Cornell 110-pounder
Milar Little and 160-pounder
Emma Stevenson both went 1-3.
