HILTON HEAD, SC - Cornell's men's tennis team capped off a perfect 4-0 spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina this afternoon, defeating St. Mary's College of Maryland 7-2 in their finale at the Hilton Head Resort.
The Rams (11-4), have now won four straight duals, and ten of their last twelve. Cornell took a 2-1 lead into singles, thanks to the fifth consecutive win for
Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf/
Federico Polidori (8-4) at No. 1, and
Trent Devore/
Mills Arnold's victory (8-1) at No. 2.
Cornell rode the momentum into singles winning five of the six positions. Devore snagged his fifth straight win 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3. Polidori (7-5, 6-2),
Zachary Ong (6-1, 6-1), Arnold (6-3, 1-6, 10-5) and
Edwin Holyoake (6-1 6-1) were also victorious on the day.
Hadler-Strumlauf suffered just only his second singles loss of the spring season at No. 1.
