Box Score 2 CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Cornell's men's tennis team split two duals on Saturday afternoon in Cedar Rapids. The Rams won 5-4 over Wartburg College, before dropping a Bremner Cup matchUP against host Coe 7-2 at the Clark Racquet Center. With the win, the Kohawks now lead the Bremner Cup series 9-2.
The Rams (12-5) opened up against Wartburg earning a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Alexander Hadler-Strumlauf/Federico Polidori posted an 8-6 at No. 1, while Zachary Ong/August Krahn teamed up for an 8-4 victory at No. 3.
Four of the six singles matches went to distance against the Knights. Hadler-Strumlauf and Trent Devore prevailed in three sets at No. 1 and No. 3. Ong and Mills Arnold fell in the other third set matches. Polidori notched a straight set 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2.
Against Coe, Hadler-Strumlauf had a hand in both of the matches won by the Rams. He recorded a 7-6, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, and, continued strong play on the doubles court with Polidori, edging out the Kohawk duo 8-7(5).
Devore pushed his opponent to a third set at No. 3, but dropped his match. The Kohawks won the remaining singles matches in straight sets.
Hadler-Strumlauf moved into #5 on the all time career wins (112) list in program history after a 4-0 day individually,
