MOUNT VERNON – Cornell netted bookend goals against undefeated Edgewood in Friday's 4-2 women's soccer loss at home.

Eva Plathe both delivered their fifth goals of the season for the young Rams (1-3), who fielded five newcomers in the starting lineup.
Westervelt got the Rams going early with an assisted goal from Plathe only 5:26 into the contest. The Eagles (4-0-1) pulled even two minutes later and went ahead 2-1 with an own goal at the 22-minute mark.
Edgewood built the lead to 3-1 before intermission and scored its fourth unanswered goal in the 65th minute. Plathe closed the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 77th minute.
Junior
Krystin Kamrath earned the start at goalkeeper for Cornell and recorded nine saves. The Eagles held a 23-6 advantage in total shots.
