ELMHURST, Ill. – Cornell's defense hung tough against constant pressure from Elmhurst in a 2-0 women's soccer setback Thursday at Langhorst Field.
 
The Bluejays (5-4-2) fired 38 total shots, although only connected twice  in a competitive match that was 1-0 deep into the second half. Cornell first-year goalkeeper Adde Sawyer posted a season-high 10 saves in a complete-game effort.
 
Elmhurst struck for an early goal at the six-minute mark. That score stood until the 80th minute, when the Bluejays added an insurance tally.
 
Krystin Kamrath and Sabrina Ibanez each had one shot for the Rams (1-7).
