LINCOLN, Neb. – Cornell's women's soccer team was shut down against two out-of-state opponents this weekend at Nebraska Wesleyan's Abel Stadium.
The Rams fell 5-0 to Nebraska Wesleyan Friday night and then dropped a 7-0 contest to Concordia (Minn.) Saturday afternoon.
First-year goalkeeper
Adde Sawyer collected 16 saves in 76 minutes against Concordia. She worked the entire match in net in her collegiate debut Friday.
Nebraska Wesleyan (3-1) pressured the Rams with 33 total shots.
Eva Plathe accounted for two of Cornell's five attempts.
The Rams received one shot apiece from
Gwen Westervelt, Plathe,
Ava Ferencz and
Emily Graciano against Concordia, which fired 41 total attempts.
Sydney Newberg logged the final 13 minutes at goalkeeper for the Rams.
